Im not talking about some new, high tech, Japanese bass fishing lure either! Im talking about prehistoric looking live bait (Helgramites) that can be found in many of Americas water ways, but for some reason they get overlooked by many anglers.

Helgramites are so effective at catching bass that they are actually outlawed in some areas. It is illegal to posses or fish with them. In the areas where they are legal to fish with, they are a bait that just can not be overlooked!

Your best bet is picking them yourself, buying them from a bait shop can be pretty costly. The average price per dozen is normally over $10.00, but even at that they are well worth it. I know of know other bass bait that is one so productive, or two tough. You can literally catch a dozen fish off one helgramite, they work just as good dead as they do alive.

Helgramites also work well on trout, catfish, walleye and a slew of other game fish.
