A Carlbad California man, Mac Weekley boated what just might be a new world record Largmouth Bass. The bass was caught while Mac was fishing Dixon Lake in Escondido, CA. The Largemouth Bass in question was weighed in unofficially at 25Lbs 1oz! If this Largemouth Bass is officially approved it would blow George Perry’s 1932 record largemouth bass of 22LBs 4oz out of the water! Of course the bass will still have to be accepted by the IGFA and only then would it be considered an official new world recored.

Mac Weekley only has one thing to worry about, the Largemouth Bass in question was foul hooked below it’s dorsal fin. This could force the IGFA to dismiss the catch all together. Which in my opinion would be sad, it was landed with a rod and reel regardless of where it was hooked.

This is not Mac’s first bag bass, earlier in 2003 while bass fishing the same lake, Mac landed a monster 21LB 11Oz largemouth bass!

Weakley was fishing with his longtime friends Mike Winn and Jed Dickerson. Dickerson caught a 21-pound, 11-ounce bass at the same lake in 2003.
