Over fifty years ago David L Hayes pulled a monster of a smallmouth bass from the depths at Dale Hollow. The 11lb 15oz smallmouth bass was a record catch and recorded as so, until 1996 when the fish was pulled from the record books and marked up by the IGFA as a cheat.
