Lake Okeechobee is a 750 square mile big bass impoundment that has been producing some of the biggest bass caught in the lower 48. Its name derives from an Indian word that means “Great Waters” and great waters is exactly what Lake Okeechobee is, great waters with great big bass! Lake Okeechobee has been the number one American bass fishing destination for years now, because of the sizes and numbers of bass found within its waters.

The area surrounding Lake Okeechobee is loaded with bait shops, motels, guide services and restaurants, so you will find every accommodation you could possibly need while visiting the area. If you do in fact decide to take a bass fishing trip to Lake Okeechobee I would highly suggest hiring a good bass fishing guide that specializes in guided Okeechobee bass fishing trips. Hiring a good bas fishing guide in the area will generally run you a few hundred dollars for a days fishing, but it is money well spent!
