If your anything like me you love fishing something new, something different, that one bait that everyone and their brother doesnt already have sitting in their tackle box. That one bait that has not already tricked every bass in the lake a dozen times before. Sometimes this requires modifying boxed baits, but more often it means seeking out a good custom lure maker. Really good lure makers are hard to come by, there are many out there, but rarely do you find one that is top notch and one of a kind.
One of those top notch lure makers that I personally buy lures from is Ronnies Custom Lures. One of his most notable lures are his custom “Ultra-Pop” top water baits.
These baits are some of the best I have ever fished, in fact the quality and action of these baits surpasses any store bought bait Ive ever fished! Ron uses something that he calls “weight distribution technology” to give each lure a very unique and effective action, that is deadly on both largemouth and smallmouth bass.
As of right now the only place you can buy Ronnies baits at is here on Ebay. If you bid right your going to get one hell of a deal on some of the best custom lures made.

Smallmouth bass fishing is fun and exciting, in fact I think pound for pound smallmouth bass may just be the hardest fighting freshwater fish on the continent. Catching these fish with conventional spinning or casting gear is an experience in itself, though there is another way to fish for smallmouth bass that gets overlooked by most anglers. That other way as you might have guessed from reading the title of this article is fly fishing for smallmouth bass.
If you have not experienced wrestling spunky smallmouth bass through the swift currents of Read All >>

Im not talking about some new, high tech, Japanese bass fishing lure either! Im talking about prehistoric looking live bait (Helgramites) that can be found in many of Americas water ways, but for some reason they get overlooked by many anglers.
Helgramites are so effective at catching bass that they are actually outlawed in some areas. It is illegal to posses or fish with them. In the areas where they are legal to fish with, they are Read All >>

Its been awhile since I last posted here, the height of the bass fishing season, for me is just starting to peak and aside from that I have been super busy. Anyway, Ive finally found some time to sit down and make a decent bass fishing post, which was going to be a run down of must have top water bass baits for 2007.
From the looks of things though someone has already beat me to it, I found the article, 2007 Bass Fishing, Top Water Run Down on Read All >>
